Where to Stay: Hidden Moose Lodge
The Hidden Moose Lodge is a B&B tucked in the mountains of Whitefish, MT. They are conveniently located near downtown Whitefish, Glacier National Park, Whitefish and Flathead lakes. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay on our visit. The employees that work there are friendly, very accommodating and knowledgeable on what to do and where to go! Did I mention they know how to cook?! Every morning you wake up to the smell of hot coffee brewing and the ladies whipping up a home cooked breakfast! Just a taste of what we had: Huckleberry pancakes, chorizo quiche, and breakfast pizza. YUM!
We would enjoy our breakfast and then head out for the day of mountain adventures. Upon returning from the fun filled day you are greeted with complimentary drinks and snacks. Also, a hot tub with a view of the lush tree filled mountain side to soak your sore legs!
I would most definitely recommend staying here if you are up for a visit to Whitefish, MT! Thank you Hidden Moose lodge for the amazing experience.
What to do:
Glacier National Park: This might be one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. With over 700 miles of trails, pristine forrest, going-to-the-sun road, waterfalls right and left this is the perfect place to get your adventure on. What I would recommend is getting up early for a day in the park. Start at Lake McDonald (hop in for a quick swim!), drive up to the “going-to-the-sun road,” hit up a bunch of different look out points, and keep driving because it only gets better. We drove deep into the park and landed at Lake Mary Trail. DO IT! Incredible waterfalls and glacier pools surrounded by bear country. You can’t get any better.
Glacier Raft Co: We had the awesome experience of white watering raft down the middle fork flathead river in Glacier National Park. Our guide, Alex, was hilarious, knowledgable and showed us a rockin’ time. We even got stuck on a rock and almost flipped our boat! Talk about adrenaline rush! Best white watering rafting in Whitefish.
Big Mountain Resort: I had a solo day to myself while the boys had a bachelor hiking day. I went up to the beautiful Big Mountain Resort. They have mountain biking, hiking, an alpine slide, zip lining and tons of other outdoor actives to check out. I took the gondola up to the top of the mountain and hiked/ran down to the bottom!
Whitefish Lake: Whitefish Lake has stunning views and tons of water sport actives to do. Swimming, jet skiing, boating, wake surfing, fishing, paddle boarding, and kayaking. The beautiful Whitefish lodge is located on the water with all of the toys to rent out for these water adventures.
Downtown Whitefish: The best way to get to know a place is to walk around and see the sites. Downtown whitefish is filled with local shops and restaurants to check out.
Some of my favorites include:
–Stumptown Marketplace–> awesome sandwich shops and local artists booths inside!
–Cowgirl Coffee, Near Whitefish Lodge
–The Great Northern Bar and Grill–> awesome bar with live music!
-Every brewery is awesome in town: Bonsai Brewing Project, Great Northern Brewing Company.
-There are local pottery and art shops all around town that really show off the rugged mountain feel of the town.
Lake McDonald–>Look how clear the water is!
We jumped in at the first waterfall! It was freezing glacier water, but so worth being cold for a few minutes.
The wedding:
I was absolutely blow away with the beauty of this wedding. The wedding was located at the stunning Whitefish Lodge, with dinner views of the insane Whitefish Lake. We sipped on drinks, ate some delicious food, danced the night away and celebrated the amazing Bride and Groom. Cheers to a trip of a lifetime.
Cheers,
