With Asheville being only a 4 hour drive from Charleston, we decide to take a few days off to meet our best friend in the mountains for a little girl time! Although we have both been to Asheville before, our trips were only for a few days & there is so much to see, do, eat & drink! So below is a quick roundup of our trip along with the most recommended things to do, places to eat & where to drink. Enjoy!!
Where we stayed:
We chose this airbnb mainly because it had a hot tub & looked super cute, clean & affordable. Only a short 20 minute drive to Asheville, we felt like it was the perfect location for our stay. The Super-host, Chris, was awesome & extremely accommodating. We most definitely recommend staying here!! It has everything you need for a perfect trip to the mountains!

Breweries:
One of the most recommended things we were told to do in Asheville was check out all of the amazing breweries. Below are all of the ones that were recommended most.
Wicked Weed Brewing/Funkatorium
Eats & Drinks:
Hole Doughnuts: SOOOO GOOD! Make your way over to this adorable little doughnut shop with fresh out of the fryer doughnuts with unique flavors.
Vortex Doughnuts: right in the heart of downtown, these doughnuts hit the spot after walking around town for a bit.
Double D’s Coffee: A double-decker bus serving up coffee & sweet treats! This place immediately caught our eye so we had to stop in and check it out!
Sunny Point Cafe: We ate here for breakfast & it was so delicious. Get the huevos rancheros, they won’t disappoint.
Buxton BBQ: Literally the most recommended place we were told about. Not only is the atmosphere aesthetically pleasing but the food is the BOMB! Get the fried chicken sandwich & the mussels cooked under a hog!
Curate: Didn’t get a chance to try this place but also one of the most recommended!
5 Walnut Wine Bar: Carol went here a few years ago & LOVED it. Perfect place for a glass of wine & charcuterie board.
Things to do:
Shoji Spa & Retreat : 100% the highlight of our trip! 2,500 feet above sea level sits this amazing retreat nestled into the mountain. We sat in salt tub for about an hour sipping hot tea & taking in the beautiful scenery.
Wake Foot Sanctuary: Most people recommended doing a hike & then going here after to get an amazing foot massage!
Hikes: DuPont Forest, Chimney Rock, Craggy Pinnacle Hike
Vintage Shopping: Honey Pot, Vintage Moon, & Hip Replacements
Cheers,
K&C
