FIRST STOP OF THE DAY: COFFEE
In our eyes, our day never starts until we have a good cup of coffee. There is no shortage of amazing coffee shops in Charleston but we always find ourselves going back to the same ones. So first stop of the day is a locals favorite, The Harbinger Cafe. You will be sure to fall in love with this sweet little spot & its beautiful interior. Make sure to check out their back patio which is where we love to sit & sip our coffee!
Our order: An iced maple latte with almond milk + Best Friend Cookie (you can thank us later!)
SECOND STOP OF THE DAY: LUNCH
There is a never ending list of amazing & delicious restaurants in Charleston that are sure to keep you coming back for more. Basic Kitchen is that spot for us. Every time we step foot into this magical place we feel right at home with its beachy light-filled vibe & healthy plates. Their motto “Cleaner Fuel, Longer Adventures.” Be sure to start with the buffalo cauliflower wings & try the basic bowl for a meal bursting with flavor. Did we mention it’s also the most instagrammable place in town?!

A trip to Charleston is never complete without a visit to one of the beautiful beaches. Our personal favorite is Sullivan’s Island! Head to Sullivan’s for a fun day in the sun or to watch the sunset on the beach. Treat yourself to lunch or dinner at one of our favorite spots on Sullivan’s main street listed below.

- How long have you lived in this city? We have lived in the city for almost 5 years! Once you visit you will understand why we have stayed so long & probably will never leave.
- Describe the city in 3 words Charming, historic, humid 😉
- How has the city changed over the years? The city is growing every single day with new restaurants, hotels, & buildings popping up on every corner. It’s definitely developing & growing quickly but even with the immense growth it still continues to keep its charm, beauty & history alive.
- Favorite part about living there? It’s hard to choose just one but living by the beach is probably our favorite! We live literally 5 minutes away & we still have to pinch ourselves that we can go to the beach everyday if we want to!
- Favorite boutiques (where you can shop BB Dakota) Our favorite boutiques are II Brunettes, Styledwell Boutique, & Copper Penny.
- First restaurant you’d take an out-of-towner to. The list of yummy restaurants in Charleston is pretty much never ending! Some of our top favorites are The Obstinate Daughter, Xiao Bao Biscuit, 167 Raw, Leon’s Oyster Shop, Edmunds Oast, & Basic Kitchen.
- Best Place to watch the sunset/sunrise: our personal favorite spots are either at the beach (Sullivans/IOP) or on a boat! Shem Creek also has amazing restaurants on the water where you can get a pretty sweet view of the sunset while watching boats & dolphins swim by!
- Favorite summertime activity: We are water girls, so anytime we can be at the beach or on a boat we are happy campers! Our favorite water activity is wake surfing or paddle boarding.
- Best coffee/tea in town: One of our favorites & a spot that every local loves is the Harbinger Cafe. Some of the best coffee, food & treats in town. We also always find ourselves going back to The Rise at the Restoration hotel. It’s not only a beautiful space but the coffee is on POINT as well as the service!
- Favorite music venue: The Charleston Music Hall has always been one of our favorites because of its more intimate setting. It is a 19th-century Gothic revival building that is now used to hold concerts, theater & amazing shows.
